The Podest work show was so multifaceted

Around 100 works from the summer semester could be seen and experienced at the podium exhibition at the Faculty of Design. We show six examples of how diverse and varied the exhibition was once again.

The late summer evening atmosphere in the faculty's green courtyard was made up of elegant easy-listening sounds, a student-friendly, cordial drinks service, a charmingly moderated, completely vegan snack trailer and the collective feeling that the Podest series contributes to the charm of Fachhochschule Dortmund: reliable in rhythm, but surprising in content and never boring.

#1: Clothing with a statement

Max Rüthers is studying scenography for his Master's degree. Together with his fellow students Abdullah Yildiz, Berk Karabag and Janna Leonards, he offered a printing service at a stand in the faculty foyer: Interested parties could choose one or more pieces of fabric with printed words such as "budget", "individual cases", "gilded noses", "LOL" and other linguistic set pieces from contemporary culture and have them applied to one of their items of clothing free of charge.

#2: Dream cottage in the forest

Dana Neumann calls her design for a luxurious vacation home "Ferienhaus Waldblick". In the faculty's assembly hall, it was housed in the middle of a mini-forest, which she had also constructed herself, and evoked a sense of peace and relaxation, in a row with imaginative constructions by other students.

"Parkour" by Jan-Ole Finke.

#3: Chic and daring

Jan-Ole Finke's photos in his "Parkour" series are perfect for album covers: people on, above, next to and between roofs, consistently in black and white.

"The Farewell Of Aewenial".

#4: Elvish elegy

Pointed ears, braided hair, flowing robes, serious looks, graceful striding, mangy orcs and a shimmering blue blade - Elisabeth Kringe interprets a short sequence of scenes on the keyboard of the Lord of the Rings elves, as it could also be part of a longer cinematic epic: expressive and, in its realization, elegant and light-footed like a fox in the undergrowth. Carried along by a melancholy, sombre soundtrack by Morienna.

Photo series by Lea Klein.

#5: Fashion Man Meditation

"Aren't Those No Pants?" is the title of Lea KLein's photo series. Do people wear fashion or does fashion wear people?

Super shopping street

#6: Super shopping street

Students on the Object and Spatial Design study program each designed and constructed a miniature model of a store. The design included the product idea, the business concept for its marketing and the implementation in the model. All the models were on display side by side at the podium show - as if you were wandering through a fictitious, stylish shopping street.
