Study once, graduate twice: In future, students on two Master's study programs at the Faculty of Computer Science at Fachhochschule Dortmund will benefit from a cooperation agreement with the prestigious Belgian KU Leuven.
The agreement enables a so-called "double degree": students who study Digital Transformation(Opens in a new tab) or Embedded Systems Engineering(Opens in a new tab) at Fachhochschule Dortmund and transfer to KU Leuven for a year can obtain either a "Master of Electronics & ICT" or "Master of Electromechanical Engineering" degree in addition to their Dortmund Master's degree. The same applies in return for KU Leuven students.
"A double degree agreement for two Master's study programs with the world-renowned KU Leuven, which is regularly ranked in the top 10 in the EU, is a special event for Fachhochschule Dortmund," commented Prof. Dr. Stephan Weyers, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Studies. "It is also the result of more than ten years of intensive collaboration in various projects. The students are getting a great opportunity." The first Dortmund students are expected to transfer to Leuven in the winter semester 2024/25.
