The facilities of the Studierendenwerk Dortmund were closed all day on Friday, March 14, 2025 - including all canteens and cafeterias. Only the "Kita im Grünen" on TU Dortmund University's South Campus remained open. The reason for the closure was an internal health day for the approximately 400 employees of the Studierendenwerk, who discussed the topics of exercise, nutrition and well-being.
"We are convinced that only a healthy team is the basis for the excellent service we want to offer our students," explained Managing Director Johannes Zedel. And his Managing Director colleague Burkhard Schwemin added: "For a whole day, we are putting the spotlight on the one thing without which everything is nothing: our health!"
Johannes Zedel: "Healthy and satisfied employees are crucial for the quality of the work we want to offer our students. We are therefore investing in the health of our team and ask for your understanding if our actual work is suspended on March 14."
All Studierendenwerk facilities will be open again as usual from Monday, March 17, 2025.
