Beck-Online

The Beck-Online subject database contains the full text of numerous standard legal works published by C. H. Beck: authoritative commentaries and manuals, a large number of Beck journals including archives as well as extensive case law and legislation.

Registration

The library enables researchers and students at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts to access Beck-Online from home. To do this, set up a VPN connection on your PC or laptop. This allows you to access the full texts from outside Fachhochschule Dortmund.

To set up access and register, please proceed as follows:

  1. If you used the old Beck-Online login procedure (without VPN), delete all cookies for the beck.de domain in your browser once. You have to register again
  2. Establish a VPN connection
  3. Go to the website https://beck-online.beck.de(Opens in a new tab) 
  4. Click on "Register free of charge" (top right) under "Our beck-online"
  5. Fill out the form. You must use the Fachhochschule Dortmund e-mail address: ...@stud.fh-dortmund.de or ...@fh-dortmund.de
  6. Follow the instructions in the confirmation e-mail from Beck-Online. You have to assign a password here.
  7. You can then log in with your user name and password

Important for accessing Beck-Online:

Cookies must be accepted in the settings of your browser. Beck-Online only ever links your personal profile to a single cookie. Each time you delete this cookie and use a different browser or device, the access authorization is transferred to the new cookie. Such a transfer is only possible three times. Access is then blocked and must be reactivated by Beck. Please contact Beck directly(Opens in a new tab)  for this.
