The Faculty of Computer Science at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts is organizing this year's IT Security Day Dortmund together with the "heise academy". The conference on 5 September 2024 is aimed at IT experts and decision-makers from companies and organizations and will take place at the Faculty of Computer Science on the Emil-Figge-Straße campus.
"With the IT Security Day at Fachhochschule Dortmund, we are not only underlining our expertise at the faculty, but also strengthening cooperation with external partners from industry and Business Studies," says Prof. Dr. Daniel Hamburg, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science.
The day's speakers also include proven experts in computer science at Fachhochschule Dortmund. Prof. Dr. Holger Schmidt will present his research on IT security incidents in recent years. In his lecture, he will paint a picture of the current threat situation, analyze security strategies and outline options for action.
IT security is a joint task
Prof. Dr. Daniel Spiekermann is dedicated to forensic investigations in virtual infrastructures. This involves searching for traces of security incidents in cloud computing services, for example. In his keynote speech, he will present the latest developments in digital forensics.
"We can best ensure cyber security if we act together and exchange information," emphasizes René Lütgenbruch, Information Security Officer at Fachhochschule Dortmund. The university is therefore also a member of the Alliance for Cyber Security of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). "The mixture of specialist presentations and the exchange of experience on real security incidents and the lessons learned from them make the IT Security Day an important networking event for the industry."
The IT Security Day Dortmund is aimed at security managers, security experts, ethical hackers and IT project managers.
