Applying as a non-EU national - Master's degree

Almost all Master's degree programs at Fachhochschule Dortmund require a minimum grade from the Bachelor's degree or have an NC or even both. For NC study programs, there are generally only a few places available for non-EU applicants.

• A degree program with a minimum grade from the Bachelor's degree, e.g. a German grade of 2.5, 2.3 or 1.7, means that if you do not have this grade, you will unfortunately not be able to study the degree program, even if there are still places available on the program.
• An NC means that places are allocated according to grade, i.e. depending on how good or bad the other applicants' grades are, you can also get a place with a lower grade.
• In the case of an NC and a minimum grade, for example, places are allocated according to grade among all applicants with a minimum grade of 2.5 or better.

Before applying in the above portal, there will be a pre-check by the faculty, for which you must apply separately in advance!

EXCEPTION:

• For the English-language Master's in International Management, please apply exclusively via uni-assist
  • Please note that this particularly short study program with only 2 semesters is not suitable for most non-EU applicants. For example, with a 4-year degree from Iran, India, etc., you can only study a Master's with 4 semesters in Germany. In addition, there is only one place for non-EU applicants.
• For the Master's in Scenography and Communication and the Master's in Theater and Digitality, there is an additional aptitude test at the faculty instead of a pre-check.

  • If you would like to apply for the study program, you must make 2 separate applications:

    1. application for the artistic-creative aptitude test: https: //eignung.design.fh-dortmund.de 
    2. application for the study program itself via the application portal of Fachhochschule Dortmund: Deadline is 15.1. and 15.6.

Information on the pre-check for European Master in Project Management, Embedded Systems Engineering and Digital Transformation:

In order to check whether you meet the content requirements for admission to these study programs, all non-Eu applicants* must submit their documents in advance via the pre-check. The pre-check starts every year in February and ends in June. These study programs are only offered annually in the winter semester. The minimum grade, recognition of the degree and English language skills are NOT checked in the pre-check. English language skills are only required later for enrollment and are not checked beforehand.
