About the SQuArE project

SQuArE bundles start-up activities at the UAS and offers a meeting and focal point across all faculties, a place where UAS members and alumni come together. An open space for creativity and interdisciplinarity, extended by a wide range of entrepreneurship education courses.

About the project

StartUpLab@FH 2018: StartUp - Training, qualification and working environment for (future) entrepreneurs (StartUp-SQuArE)

Head of the project: Prof. Dr. Fabian Dittrich

The central aim of the StartUp@SQuArE project is to bundle all existing and future activities to promote and support start-ups in one structure. The main aim of the project is to accompany those interested in setting up a business from the idea (discovery) to the successful founding of the company and to increase the number of start-ups from the university of applied sciences.

This goal is achieved by implementing the following modules:

StartUp@SQuArE_Lab : A co-working space, a creative and workshop area and a PC pool will be set up and operated (Campus_Lab) in Lindemannstraße 79 (opposite the Design Campus at Max-Ophüls-Platz) on approx. 200 m². The project staff also have their workspace there and are available for counseling and coaching for those interested in setting up a business. A further room with PC workstations is also being built on the university floor at kiU (kiU_Lab).

StartUp@SQuArE_Management: The project management consists of an interdisciplinary team of professors and contributes to the internalization and continuous development of entrepreneurial thinking and acting with start-up-related (extra-)curricular offers.

StartUp@SQuArE_Proof : With the so-called Kickstart funds, financial support of up to 7,500 euros, innovative projects receive the necessary impetus to become successful.

Other measures within the project include organizing and expanding the internal start-up network, developing new offers and measures and providing impetus for strategic and organizational development.
