General information on accessibility on the Sonnenstraße campus (SON)
- Some of the buildings on the Sonnenstraße campus are historical and only partially accessible.
- The main entrance and the central information point/gate are located in building section A. The main entrance is only accessible via a staircase.
- Step-free access to the central information point/gate is possible via the "Neuer Graben" entrance. This entrance also has an automatic door system.
- There are elevators in all buildings and parts of buildings. These do not have voice output.
- In the inner courtyard, an external elevator provides access to building section B.
- Only some of the buildings are equipped with automatic door sensors.
- The barrier-free WCs can be used with the Euro key.
- Access by subway via Dortmund Central Station.
Information for blind and visually impaired people on accessibility on the Sonnenstraße campus (SON)
- The rooms on the SON campus are marked in Braille.
- There is no tactile guidance system inside or outside the buildings.
- The elevators have no voice output.
Note on arrival via Dortmund main station
Dortmund Central Station is still being renovated until 2024. Therefore, not all tracks are currently (2023) accessible. Information on accessibility can be found on the Deutsche Bahn station website.

The Sonnenstraße (SON) campus is located in the immediate vicinity of the B1 federal highway. The B1 can be reached via the A1, A44 and A45 highways.
