Hello, my name is Hasan, I'm from Turkey and I'm studying Medical Informatics at Fachhochschule Dortmund. As you can tell from my degree, I'm interested in technology and science. I work at the Hochschule vor Ort to motivate young people, especially those with a migration background, to study and to show them how much fun computer science can be.

I speak three languages, German, English and Turkish, and can inform you in all of them and share my experiences with you!

Hey, my name is Nina and I'm studying Communication Design as well as Object and Spatial Design at Fachhochschule Dortmund.
Instead of reading magazines at the age of fourteen, I preferred to look at the design of magazines. It quickly became clear to me that I would do my Abitur at a vocational college for design.
I discovered my passion for object and interior design when I moved to Dortmund five years ago to study communication design.

As a StudyScout at the Hochschule vor Ort, I would like to introduce young talents to creative study programs. I want to motivate you to pursue your interests and live out your creativity.

Sabrina Günther

Study program: Social Work

Hi, I'm Sabrina and I'm studying Social Work at Fachhochschule Dortmund. Later on, I would like to support people in social emergencies at eye level.
I come from Nordstadt myself and am the first in my family to study. As Nordstadt is my home, I feel very close to it. I feel I know every nook and cranny of the district.
As a StudyScout, I work to introduce young people in Nordstadt to my study program and to encourage them on their way to university.
I want to show that it's completely normal to try things out. Before studying at the UAS, I studied law for two semesters at Ruhr University Bochum - until I realized that social work suited me better. The first study program doesn't have to be "the right one"!

Hey,
I'm Jakob and I'm studying film at the Design Campus of Fachhochschule Dortmund. During and after school, I had no idea where I wanted to go. After my A-levels in electrical engineering, I went in a completely different direction from local radio to a recording studio to theater to television between internships and federal voluntary service - but never really arrived anywhere.

Until I finally found out by chance that you can study film in Dortmund. I started working as a StudyScout so that others wouldn't leave it to chance. For a long time, studying seemed unrealistic and distant to me. The self-organization and the entrance exams seemed like a huge hurdle, but with a little help it was much more achievable than I first thought. So for me, studying finally became an arrival at what I really wanted to do. I would therefore also like to demystify the path to university for students and encourage them - even or especially when there seem to be obstacles on the way.

Like many of my fellow students, I live in Nordstadt, because life writes exciting stories here and I have grown fond of the people in the area.
