Quality management and production

Team description

The "Quality Management and Production" team has been supporting the Master's project right from the start. The team's mentor is Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Hesterberg, Head of the Master's degree course in Production Engineering.

Work packages

The "Quality Management and Production" team supports the master's project by standardizing and systematizing the project work and by manufacturing and procuring components and assemblies. They also define possible errors in order to prevent them. In addition to team management, the creation and maintenance of work standards and checklists as well as document management are among the core tasks. In accordance with standard processes in the automotive industry, failure mode and effects analyses are also organized, moderated and supported during implementation in interdisciplinary teams. The FMEA work package defines possible errors in order to prevent them. The production and procurement work packages are responsible for the manufacture of in-house production parts across all projects, including making make-or-buy decisions and checking and approving external procurements.

What has been achieved so far?

At the start of the project, the focus of the team's work was on establishing standardized workflows and document templates. In the current semester, the structures of the "ILIAS(Opens in a new tab) " project platform were transferred to the "Sciebo" cloud platform. All current and team-specific documents are managed in the cloud. This structure will serve as a standardized exchange platform for information and files for the entire project in the coming semesters. FMEAs were created in each sub-project and detailed up to the definition of measures in the current semester. In addition, guidelines and checklists for the production-oriented design of welded joints and machined in-house production parts were developed. The project management  was also supported in project marketing by creating concepts and project descriptions.
