Senate

The Senate consists of lecturers, employees and students of Fachhochschule Dortmund. There are currently 24 members, 8 of whom are student representatives.

Tasks of the Senate of Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts

The Senate ...

  • participates in the election and deselection of members of the Rectorate(Opens in a new tab)  in the University Election Assembly(Opens in a new tab) 
  • comments on the annual report of the Rectorate (§22 HG)
  • issues and amends the university's basic regulations, regulations and framework regulations in accordance with the Higher Education Act
  • approves planning principles for the university development plan within the meaning of Section 16 (1a) sentence 1 HG
  • makes recommendations and comments on matters of research, art, teaching and studies that affect the entire university or central institutions or are of fundamental importance
  • makes recommendations and comments on the draft university development plan in accordance with Section 16 (1a) HG and the university contract in accordance with Section 6 (3), on the evaluation reports in accordance with Section 7 (2) and (3), on the business plan, on the principles of the distribution of positions and funds among the faculties, the central academic institutions and the central operating units
