Profile
The main field of activity of the CFD laboratory (Computational Fluid Dynamics) is the numerical simulation of complex flows using computer-aided systems. Different types of flows are considered: from simplified geometries, often of an academic nature, to highly complex configurations, which are generally used in industry. The diverse issues dealt with cover a wide range of applications. For example, issues from vehicle development, aerospace and the energy sector are considered. In collaboration with partners from research and industry, the CFD laboratory is involved in the further development of turbomachinery and the design of improved processes and components in the field of biomedical engineering.
