Back then, their faculty was still called "Electrical Power Engineering". At their reunion at the Sonnenstraße location, five alumni learned that a lot has changed in the 40 years since they graduated from Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts.

The alumni and their partners were welcomed by Dean Prof. Dr. Bernd Runge and Alumni Representative Prof. Dr. Jens Rettkowski, who had organized the reunion in a lecture hall in what is now the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

The program included a joint tour, during which the graduates were able to (re)discover a number of things, including the high-voltage laboratory(Opens in a new tab) . "It's still there," said one of them happily - and added, impressed: "But everything inside is new!"

The energy engineers also explored the faculty's other laboratories and workshops to see just how modern the university's equipment currently is. "Then as now, we attach great importance to the practical training of our students in research and teaching," emphasized Dean Bernd Runge, who was able to bid farewell to "very enthusiastic" visitors after the tour.
