Sunglasses, slush ice and, if required, rain ponchos - all in orange, of course. Fachhochschule Dortmund has once again given the Juicy Beats Festival 2024 a special splash of color. The university has been a partner of the festival for 13 years now and is presenting a stage. The Orange stage, of course.
Artists such as Soffie, Deki Alem, Ellice and The Sixters performed on the Orange Stage in front of the Buschmühlenteich pond in Dortmund's Westfalenpark. Fachhochschule Dortmund had set up its stand - or rather, its little FH village - within sight of this. Surrounded by the vintage FH HY(Opens in a new tab) and "Soffi", the university's new mobile sustainability office, deckchairs and self-made pallet lounge corners were set up under and around the large awning. A place to chill out on the festival site.
In the HY, the slush ice machine was running at full speed. At the sustainability office, there were free water taps and the opportunity to charge your smartphone. The mobile solar system was set up especially for this purpose. Only the sun was a long time coming. In view of the impending rain, students from Fachhochschule Dortmund quickly distributed orange ponchos among the festival guests.
Once again, however, the sunglasses with the Fachhochschule Dortmund look were in high demand. A good 5,000 of them were distributed to the guests. They could be seen everywhere on the Festviel site and were also a much sought-after object of exchange.
Get into conversation at the "Juciy Beats"
Fachhochschule Dortmund has been a partner of the Juicy Beats festival for more than ten years now and presents the Orange stage. This commitment also increases the visibility of the UAS outside the university environment. And whether at the HY, under the awning or on the grounds: students, lecturers and employees take the opportunity to talk to other people. For example, Marie Gowert, a student of the Faculty of Design, met the artist Soffie on Friday - at the FH "Soffi", the Sustainability Office.
The singer has captured the hearts of users worldwide with her Tik-Tok trend song "Forever Spring" and triggered a wave of enthusiasm with her unique voice. She manages to pack deep and heavy themes into light, cheerful music. Her goal: a society for all, a good life for all. These are topics that also occupied the Sustainability Office at Fachhochschule Dortmund. Marie Gowert designed the Fachhochschule Dortmund's mobile sustainability office and conceived the innovative interior design. She has also conducted research into sustainability issues at Fachhochschule Dortmund.
At the Juicy Beats Festival on July 26 and 27, 2024, around 30,000 people celebrated together in Dortmund's Westfalenpark.
