You can find out more about Cafe Berta with the Scan app.

At the height of the coronavirus crisis, the majority of doors that had previously been open to visitors and residents remained closed. This particularly affected the area of social and cultural responsibility. Offers were dropped, were only possible to a limited extent or took place in the digital space. In many cases, all that remained was to look through the (viewing) window.

In the "lichtblickdicht" exhibition, the Nordstadtgalerie took a look through its own window and tried to answer the question of what happens behind the scenes of social institutions. The Nordstadtgalerie lifted the curtain, true to the motto: "We look behind the windows in our shop windows".

A special app made it possible to see through the windows: By scanning the images, further information became visible on the smartphone, allowing deeper insights into the respective businesses and facilities. For non-technology enthusiasts, there was an additional installation on selected days that made the app's process visible.
