Online lecture series "Fachwissen zum Mittag" starts for the third time

Published

Since 2021, the library has been organizing the online lecture series "Fachwissen zum Mittag" in cooperation with the Graduate Center of the Fachhochschule Dortmund. Every year, experts from various institutions speak on a wide range of topics related to academic publishing.

The program for the third round includes eight lectures, each starting at 12 noon. The topics will be presented in 45 minutes, followed by an optional opportunity for professional exchange with the speakers, the organizing team and the other participants.

The lecture series is primarily aimed at (junior) researchers at Fachhochschule Dortmund, but all other interested parties are also welcome. This year's lectures will provide answers to questions such as: What are the advantages of open access publications? How do you practice good research data management? How can you finance the printing costs for your own dissertation? And how does a peer review process actually work?

The speakers are experts from the library, the Graduate Center and the faculties of Fachhochschule Dortmund. For individual topics, there will also be speakers from other universities.

Registration now possible

All those who have already attended one or more lectures in the series will be informed about the new program by e-mail shortly. You do not need to register again. Anyone who has not yet taken part can use the registration form to express interest in specific lectures or the series in general. As always, the organization team welcomes not only numerous registrations, but also requests for possible additional topics for the coming years.

More detailed information on dates, topics and speakers as well as the registration form can be found here:
