About the person
Christiane Fülscher is an architect and architectural historian. Her research focuses on the history and theory of architecture since 1900, with a particular focus on the modernist movement and post-war modernism in Eastern and Western Europe, as well as the cultural and socio-political relevance of architecture. After studying architecture at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, she studied art history at the University of Hamburg and also worked for many years as an architect in offices in Hamburg, Porto Alegre (Brazil) and near Darmstadt. She worked for many years at the Institute for Architectural History at the University of Stuttgart and at the Department of Architectural Theory and Science at the Technical University of Darmstadt. She has also lectured at Vilnius Tech, TU Darmstadt and Munich University of Applied Sciences. Her current research projects focus on architectural networks and design theory at German architecture faculties at the beginning of the 20th century.
