Overview

My work focuses on innovative applications in neuroscience and medical technology. As a member of the Faculty of Information Technology in the Neuroscience and Medical Technology Laboratory (NeuroMed), I work primarily with non-invasive multimodal methods for data acquisition, such as EMG, EEG and fNIRS. My activities include the acquisition, signal processing and evaluation of biosignals as well as their application for controlling external hardware.

My work interests lie in particular in

  • the development of innovative solutions to improve the quality of life of people with impaired sensory or motor skills.
  • recording and analyzing neurophysiological and biomechanical measurement data in amputees to improve prostheses and rehabilitation measures.
  • the recording and analysis of brain signals for a better understanding of the human brain and the development of brain-computer interfaces for people with disabilities, for example patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)."

Please contact me if you are interested in a collaboration or project and/or thesis work in these areas.

Open project and final theses

  • Investigation of neurofeedback in stress management using EEG Unicorn Hybrid Black.
  • Hybrid EEG-fNIRS brain-computer interface for communication in ALS patients.
