The Master's degree program in Information Systems qualifies you for management tasks in the IT sector of companies and for higher service in public administration. Accordingly, the curriculum includes a range of management-oriented topics such as IT controlling, IT management and IT consulting. In-depth modules cover requirements engineering for digital solutions, information and communication technology, IT security (security and risk management) and usability engineering. General management skills are also promoted through special methodical arrangements in an advanced business simulation. A special module is dedicated to scientific methods. Finally, the compulsory elective module, which can be selected from a catalog, serves to deepen knowledge in a sub-area of business informatics.
Through the combination of classroom teaching and self-study, graduates of the joint degree program are particularly well equipped to independently acquire and apply knowledge from various sources with regard to "life-long-learning".
Classroom courses on Saturdays outside the vacations
The standard period of study, including all examinations, is five semesters. Regular evaluations show that the attendance phases are seen as a central element for the success of the course. The personal and direct exchange of experiences with fellow students and direct contact with lecturers, as well as practical application in projects, exercises, internships and seminars are essential. The learning materials that are used to teach the content and replace the lectures and sometimes exercises found in traditional study programs are also rated positively.
