Companies and organizations are increasingly affected by IT security incidents, from data leaks to targeted hacker attacks. This presentation presents the results of an empirical study of known IT security incidents in recent years and analyzes the effectiveness of the compromised IT security measures. It is aimed at IT security managers and decision-makers and aims to provide a sound understanding of the current threat situation and outline future-proof IT security strategies.

Virtual environments have become widely accepted in IT, but also offer additional opportunities for attackers. Forensic investigations in virtualization infrastructures therefore remain a necessary task for operators.
However, the classic investigation methods of IT forensics are no longer sufficient due to the virtualization and programmability of infrastructures and lead to incomplete and possibly erroneous results.
The lecture presents current developments in digital forensics in these dynamic environments and is therefore aimed at IT security officers and decision-makers in modern IT infrastructures.
