The "lead story" chosen for this issue is the short presentation that accompanied the student project "Europa-Renaissance" (June 13-15, 2014) at the Faculty of Business Studies. 26 students from 7 European countries and 9 university locations met in Dortmund to kick off a new type of European encounter. The participants will meet again for a research conference in Dortmund on November 3-4, 2014. In parallel to the academic supervisors who want to develop into a research network, student teams at different universities will meet annually to formulate their approach to Europe and take the initiative for concrete measures - possibly in cooperation with other student groups. The introductory lecture is documented here.
