About the project
The results of the practical exercise "Miniature Architecture" of the course "Building Materials Technology 2".
The task of the exercise in the field of building materials technology under the direction of Dipl.-Ing. Daniel Horn M.Sc. was the scaled, abstract realization of a well-known and architecturally valuable building. The 2nd semester students designed architectural sculptures and produced precise formwork. These were then filled with a special "fine-grain concrete" (flow filler) and stripped and finished by the students. The result was 50 unique, delicate concrete sculptures of well-known architectural icons.
The aim of this course was to train the perception of recognizable features of a building as well as the implementation of a building on a small scale for a better understanding in later practical professional life.
The students were supported throughout the entire process by staff members Winfried Schmidt and Daniel Horn. We would also like to thank Sopro Bauchemie GmbH for their support with materials.
