IT strategy 2025

Andrea Kienle: We are working intensively on the university of the future with numerous activities. Our strategy sets out the framework for the IT of the future. "Installing the future" therefore fits very well. The IT strategy was developed in an interdisciplinary working group, which is now responsible for designing the IT-related processes.

Andrea Kienle: We are planning to launch the Studi app in the first half of this year. The app brings together all the important information for everyday student life, including timetables, exam results and emails. A new intranet is expected to go online in 2023. Our research information system, which brings together all research information, will also be launched soon.

Lutz Niehüser: This system will then also have an interface to the new cloud-based library system Alma, which is being set up by Fachhochschule Dortmund in collaboration with the Digital University NRW.

Andrea Kienle: The aim of international digitalization is to standardize processes in cooperation with international partners. One keyword: Erasmus Without Paper. We are aiming for an interface that will allow students' achievements to be recognized across Europe at the touch of a button.

Lutz Niehüser: The Online Access Act also obliges us to digitize paper-based processes. In future, we will keep e-files - printers and scanners will soon be a thing of the past. In the future, final theses on paper will also be phased out as part of e-student files.

Andrea Kienle: In the last two years, we have introduced new systems quite quickly. We are planning the next steps in stages and continue to make sure that we take the people at the university with us. We decide on the direction and speed together.
