Our tasks
Counseling students and prospective students with disabilities, chronic illnesses and/or partial performance disorders on the following topics
- Application procedure (special applications for university admission)
- Application for compensation for disadvantages in examinations (e.g. time extension, assistance, technical aids)

Our tasks
We provide information on student financing options outside of BAföG for studying at Fachhochschule Dortmund (scholarships, loans, student loans, education funds, emergency aid).

Family service
Our tasks
As a counseling and placement office for students at Fachhochschule Dortmund, the Family Service is happy to support, advise and accompany you in many compatibility-related questions and concerns. We will also help you when it comes to reconciling care responsibilities with your career or studies.
How we support you
- Counseling on reconciling work/study and family life
- Counselling for student parents on organizing their studies
- Counseling on mobile childcare (MoKi), the Fachhochschule Dortmund's short-term childcare service for emergencies and off-peak times
- Counseling on temporary childcare, e.g. at off-peak times or during school vacations
- Counseling on financial support options and social benefits (e.g. BAföG, parental allowance)

Our tasks
The Women's Project Lab is a place where schoolgirls can gain an insight into various technical courses of study, carry out STEM experiments and have their questions about studying answered by female students.

VIA* feedback (suggestions, ideas and proposals)
Our tasks
The VIA* team is a point of contact for suggestions, ideas, proposals and complaints. These can be communicated in person, by telephone or in writing. Anonymous reporting is possible via the contact form.
How we support you
- We take care of every request, whether ideas, praise, criticism or simply a question.
- If necessary, we will put you in touch with the right contact person.
- We treat every contact confidentially, anonymously if you wish.

Our tasks
- Student financing (counseling on BAföG matters, processing applications)
- Student housing (student residences with over 2,800 places)
- Daycare (operation of the daycare center Kita im Grünen - Pedagogical Center on Campus)
How we support you
Student financing
- BAföG: Assistance with all questions regarding BAföG (e.g. help with filling out the forms, carrying out sample calculations, questions regarding repeat applications and changes of subject, processing applications, etc.).
Student housing
- Letting of affordable accommodation for students near the campus (some of which is accessible for the disabled)
- Move into your own four walls cheaply and easily: Fully furnished rooms with internet access are available in the halls of residence, plus washing and drying machines, parking spaces for bicycles and cars, good accessibility by public transport
- Make contact quickly: Communal rooms enable active interaction in the residential complex. Dedicated caretakers guarantee personal support
Daycare center
- For the compatibility of studies and family: all-day care for a total of 120 children in the Kita im Grünen, educational center on campus. The offer is aimed in particular at students with child(ren). Children whose parents are not students are also accepted. Children are cared for from the age of four months.
