General information on available study places

Applications for available study places are made via the Fachhochschule Dortmund's study place portal(Opens in a new tab) .

Enrolment is only possible if there are still places available at the time of processing by the Office for Student Affairs and if all admission requirements for the respective study program are met.

International applicants should also use the study place portal(Opens in a new tab)  if they are interested in a free study place. An application via uni-assist is not necessary in the case of an application for available study places.

Please note: If you have acquired your higher education entrance qualification in the "professionally qualified" category, you can also apply for a remaining place (unless you still have to take an entrance examination). The application for admission must also be submitted via the study place portal. You can find more information on the application for professionally qualified students and the requirements on the page Studying without a (Fach-) Abitur(Opens in a new tab) .

* Attention: Information for study programs of the Faculty of Design

In all Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in the Faculty of Design, a passed course-related artistic-design aptitude test is a prerequisite for admission to the program.

There are no catch-up dates for the aptitude tests. Therefore, if you are unable to provide proof of your aptitude for the course, you will not be able to enrol.
